If I see "import openai" in your GitHub anywhere, you're automatically disqualified. There is a profound lack of depth or introspection on the part of overly eager startupbros. I feel disgusted to be quite frank. Some people I admire are still making baby mistakes. Just, how?

I struck a nerve... What I don't approve of isn't simply OpenAI wrappers. It's especially those that do something I can get done already with one extra step on chatgpt plus. Even before the new updates. "I built a grammar checker with GPT-4" nets you a score of 0 from me.
-
Importantly, because of API costs, all the wrappers that become startups expect you to pay for their single tool. When in truth, it's just to cover API costs. I'm already paying every month for chatgpt which gives me GPT-4. If all your tool does is save me 20 extra seconds. Nope.

I'm not naming people. I just want you to spend a year or two looking at every market you would ever consider entering. Talk to people in the industry. Bootstrap, avoid VC funding as much as possible. If ChatWithPDF had the foresight to build out, integrate local support, etc...

They might still be in business. By offering features that daddy sama can't do upstream. Offline support with ggml, inline image captioning, editing, and so much more. Assuming you have a business with OpenAI is like a YouTuber having only ad revenue as income. It's stupid.
